Last opportunity to claim compensation against Club la Costa before liquidation deadlines

You may already be aware that Club La Costa (UK) Plc. is in administration and is likely to enter liquidation.

Its main operating company in Spain, Club La Costa (UK) Plc. Sucursal in España (branch), is already in liquidation, along with several other independent CLC companies.

In the coming months, opportunities to seek relinquishment or bring a claim may reduce significantly. Many CLC timeshare purchases were financed through British banks. If your timeshare contract is deemed null and void, you may be able to claim compensation against the lender or the credit card provider that helped fund the purchase.

Our associate lawyers, M1 Legal, have previously managed to lift the corporate veil in relation to other CLC companies, where apartments are held in the names of separate companies not directly owned by Club La Costa.

M1 Legal remains in regular liaison with the administrators of Club La Costa (UK) Plc. and with the liquidators in Spain.

The position can be complex, as many contracts were made with offshore companies, including those based in the Isle of Man and the British Virgin Islands.

There are also cases involving criminal proceedings against the directors, which M1 Legal is pursuing. If you wish to be involved as a creditor in these proceedings and avoid paying future maintenance fees, it is important to take action as soon as possible.
