If and when you travel abroad this year, can you get a timeshare maintenance fee refund?

  • Are you planning to travel to your timeshare in the near future?
  • Are you prepared to wear a mask throughout airport journeys and on the aircraft?
  • Are you prepared for longer waits in airports, potentially up to four hours at a time?
  • Are you prepared for reduced or closed resort facilities when you arrive?
  • Are you prepared to quarantine for 14 days on your return to the UK?
  • Sunbed availability is limited at the best of times — imagine the impact with mandatory 2-metre distancing.

DON’T FORGET SOCIAL DISTANCING AT ALL TIMES (2 METRES)

Millions of people with holiday plans have chosen not to travel and are now seeking refunds or credit notes so they can rebook for a later date.

For timeshare owners, the issue is that many resorts are not issuing refunds. Promises that owners can use their timeshare later could quickly turn into an availability nightmare.

Borders may be opening in some countries, but can you realistically enjoy a holiday abroad with the safety measures and restrictions above?

You may have read in a previous newsletter that the Timeshare Consumer Association (TCA) has started a campaign to encourage resorts to repay 2020 maintenance fees where owners have been unable to benefit from their membership due to Covid-19. Has this affected you — and more importantly, are you willing to pay 2021 fees, knowing you couldn’t use your timeshare in 2020 and may face similar issues in 2021?

Hundreds of affected owners have already submitted their details. If you’ve been affected, we strongly recommend completing the short survey below.
